WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Tom Udall joined fellow New Mexicans Monday in celebrating the five-year anniversary of the proclamation signed by President Barack Obama to designate the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks in southern New Mexico as a national monument – the culmination of years of work from the local community.
The skies over the weekend above Overlook Park in White Rock were filled with kites for the annual Kite Festival sponosred by the Los Alamos Arts Council. The Arts Council has been sponsoring fun events in Los Alamos for the past 52 years. To learn more about the Arts Council, visit their open meeting at 6 p.m., June 1, at Fuller Lodge.
