The seasons are changing and that calls for a celebration! So, today and Friday the Boese Brothers Brewery is hosting an Oktoberfest event.

The celebration begins at 4 p.m. today and then again 2 p.m. Friday. The park next to the brewpub will feature a beer garden with grills serving up bratwursts, both meat and vegan, hot dogs, pretzels with beer cheese, potato salad, and corn on the cob.

The Los Alamos Lads of Enchantment and the Santa Fe Harmonizers invite Los Alamos to join them for the 2019 Barbershop Harmony Show 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 at the United Church of Los Alamos, 2525 Canyon Dr.

In a departure from prior years, the annual show will be presented in Los Alamos on a single night; however, the show also will be presented at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 1200 Old Pecos Trail in Santa Fe.

Gala For Self Help Celebrates 50 Years Of Service

Self Help Inc. celebrates its 50th anniversary with a West Coast Food and Wine Tour Saturday at Trinity on the Hill Episcapal Church. Self Help is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting those in need in northern New Mexico. The Brother Brothers, a Brooklyn, NY based folk duo will play the historic Fuller Lodge 7 p.m. (doors at 6 p.m.) Thursday, Oct. 17.
The band’s odd name is a play on the fact that the duo is comprised of identical twin brothers, David and Adam Moss.

To enhance your Halloween season, Los Alamos Light Opera will be presenting The Addams Family, a New Musical directed by Cindy Hines, with musical direction by Gretchen Amstutz, choreography by Brooke Davis, and produced by Laurie Tomlinson.

Based on characters created by Charles Addams, the beloved family from the classic television series and films come to life on the stage, with book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, for an evening of fun and games that will be altogether ooky!
