LAAC Brown Bag Features Cellist Joy Charles And Pianist Aaron Anderson At Fuller Lodge June 5

Joy Charles, cellist, and Aaron Anderson, pianist, will collaborate on the upcoming free Brown Bag noon to 1 p.m., June 5 at Fuller Lodge.

Charles, an accomplished musician and cello instructor, will join forces with Aaron Anderson, phenomenal pianist and composer, to bring jazzy mash-ups and pop folk fusion sure to delight and entertain!

Charles and Anderson are long-time residents of Los Alamos and have performed in various local and state-wide venues. Charles studied cello performance in California and Indiana University. Anderson is co-owner of Los Alamos

Santa Fe Opera Announces 42 Members Of The 2019 Season Apprentice Program For Singers

SANTA FE — The Santa Fe Opera announces the members of its 2019 Season Apprentice Program for Singers.
 
This season’s program is comprised of singers from across the United States, Canada and South Korea. The 42 singers, selected by Gayletha Nichols, Director of the Program, and Robert Tweten, Head of Music Staff, rose to the top from a pool of more than 1,000 applicants through a competitive pre-screening and audition process.

Pajarito Mountain Ski Area kicks off its summer season 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 8 with lift-served mountain biking and hiking.
 
The mountain will feature some exciting new events and fun activities all summer long.
 
Pajarito Mountain features 1,200 verticle feet of downhill, cross country and freeride mountain bike trails. The 30-trail system is built and maintained almost entirely by local volunteers from Los Alamos. The trails feature dirt and North Shore-style
