Summer Kicks Off With Summerfest At Pajarito June 8

Pajarito Mountain Ski Area kicks off its summer season 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 8 with lift-served mountain biking and hiking.
 
The mountain will feature some exciting new events and fun activities all summer long.
 
Pajarito Mountain features 1,200 verticle feet of downhill, cross country and freeride mountain bike trails. The 30-trail system is built and maintained almost entirely by local volunteers from Los Alamos. The trails feature dirt and North Shore-style trails ranging from beginner to expert.
 
Lift-served biking and hiking is available Saturdays and Sundays during the summer through Sept. 29, plus special hours June 20, July 19 and Sept. 2 and Sept. 20. Lift-served mountain biking is $29 per day with discounted tickets available online for $26.
 
The hiking uplift ticket is $10 per day. Devinci Rental bikes include helmets and armor for $99 per day. For $225, the Mountain Bike Power Pass comes with unlimited uplift access at Pajarito Bike Park and Purgatory Bike Park, plus three free days at partner bike parks including Bogus Basin Mountain Bike and Grand Targhee Bike Park.

Brewfest, Live Music and More Great Events
 
June 8: Summerfest
 
Summerfest is one of Pajarito’s biggest events of the year. The festival includes the New Mexico Craft Brewfest, live music from Iron Chiwawa (classic rock and roll), lift-served hiking and biking, a free Strava bike race, food from the Pajarito Cafe, a disc golf tournament and more. Summerfest begins at 9 a.m. June 8 with lift-served hiking and biking. The New Mexico Craft Brewfest, 1-6 p.m. features more than a dozen local brewers including Blue Corn Brewery, Turtle Mountain Brewery, Bathtub Row Cooperative Brewery, 377 Brewery, Lost Hiker Brewery, Red Door Brewery, Tractor Brewery & Distillery (spirits), Second Street Brewery, Sierra Blanca Brewery, Taos Mesa Brewery, Red River Brewery and Steelbender Brewery. The ACT Shuttle will provide free transportation every 30 minutes, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., from Los Alamos High School to the ski area.
 
June 20: Summer Solstice Festival
 
Back by popular demand, Pajarito is hosting the Summer Solstice Festival Friday, June 20 as a part of Los Alamos County’s 100 Days of Summer. Pajarito will offer lift-served biking and hiking 4-8 p.m. June 20 with live music from the Nomads beginning at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with beer beginning at 5 p.m. from Bathtub Row.
 
July 19-21: Rocky Mountain Race Series
 
Test your skills at this weekend of offroad racing fun. Friday, July 19 will feature a lift-served course preview noon to 3 p.m. with Cross-Country and Slalom Saturday and Short Track and Downhill Sunday. Find more information and register here.
 
Aug. 3: Gordon Tribute Concert
 
To honor the 30-year Gordon concert series in Los Alamos, Pajarito will host a concert Aug. 3 with live music from multiple bands, food from the Pajarito Cafe, and, of course, beer from local breweries.
 
Aug. 10: Party at Paja Enduro
 
This one of a kind race is sure to be a gravity riders favorite as Pajarito rolls out the first 100 percent lift accessed Enduro at Pajarito Mountain. Emphasizing good times, Pajarito has taken the exhaustion and grueling climb out of the equation so riders can focus on what really matters … racing with friends and creating memories.
 
Sept. 20: Fall Equinox Festival
 
Pajarito is hosting the Fall Equinox Festival 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 and Pajarito will offer lift-served biking and hiking during the event.
 
Sept. 21: Ullr Fest
 
This fall favorite, Ullr Fest invites friends of Pajarito to come honor the Norse God of snow for a good ski season in 2019-20 and have some fun. Ullrfest features live music, lift-served mountain biking and hiking, food from Pajarito Mountain Cafe, and a New Mexico Brewfest.
